Let us Celebrate The Return of the Light

Imbolc, also known as Candlemas, is the halfway point between Yule (Winter Solstice) and Beltane (Spring Equinox). It marks the beginning of Spring. It is a time of change when the days are longer and the sun is stronger.

Early Celtic celebrations included lighting fires to warm the frozen land, hanging a four cornered Bridgid’s Cross above doorways to bless and protect a home, and practicing weather divination as a way to predict the future. Similar to the idea of Groundhog’s Day, ancient Celts would listen for a lark to sing on Imbolc. If they heard the bird, it meant that spring would be early.

Imbolc is most closely associated with the Celtic Goddess Brigid

Who was celebrated as the goddess of learning, healing, the smitharts/craftsman, and fertility.

Brigid was thought to be attended by an all-female priesthood. Every year at mid-winter, festivals were thrown in honor of the goddess, as a way to encourage the return of springtime.

Imbolc

is a time of real growth, development, and change. Imbolc is a time to take what you have learned and apply it to new endeavors as you move forward.

Why would you want to attend?

Our Natural state is in tune with Nature, but in our busy society with so many demands for our time and energy, we have lost touch. Attending these ritual celebrations allows you time to think about where you are in the cycle of nature. Looking at how you can show up in your own life in a more in-tune way, with less stress, and learning to move in life with more ease and less angst.
